Corporate Energy Management at Coca-Cola Swaziland

System integrator Systems Anywhere Coastal was selected by Coca-Cola Swaziland for the implementation with Wonderware as the main software for the energy management project. In particular:
  1. Wonderware System Platform
  2. Wonderware Information Server
  3. Wonderware InTouch HMI
  4. Wonderware Historian
  5. Wonderware Historian Client
  6. Wonderware SmartGlance
  7. Wonderware Corporate Energy Management (CEM)
I'd like to focus on CEM in this post as this is one of the key software products in the energy management implementation.

Corporate Energy Management

Wonderware Corporate Energy Management allows plant personnel to monitor real-time energy use and automatically notifies operators, supervisors and cost accountants of energy inefficiencies and waste.

What Wonderware Corporate Energy Management does is simple:  it allows plant personnel to monitor real-time energy use and automatically notifies operators, supervisors and cost accountants of energy inefficiencies and waste.

CEM connects directly to meters, controllers and building automation systems. This is done through Wonderware System Platform. This enables the direct integration of the energy management parameters and measurements with the main process. This is important because what CEM does is enable you to link or equate energy usage to such items as asset state, production results and operating parameters. This is exactly what was done at Coca-Cola Swaziland.

"We were pioneering the CEM implementation using the water, steam, air and power modules. The Wonderware CEM fits into the System Platform environment and is an "off the shelf" product that has multiple metering options. It enables real-time visibility of usage and cost and makes data available to any delivery vehicle."

Additional CEM functionality includes recording consumption and demand of a wide range of energy types, including power, water, chill, gas, air and steam.
